EDUCATION

“I remember showing up to NHS before school to join my classmates and protest cuts to arts and foreign language. I took out consecutively larger loans for each of my four years at UMass Amherst, and spent seven years paying them off. I know the impact of underfunding public education, and I know how student debt holds back today’s graduates from fulfilling their goals. I will fight tirelessly to remove these barriers and ensure every person has access to a high-quality education.

As your State Rep. Amber will be an advocate for our our schools and students.

  • Fund the Student Opportunity Act.

  • Ensure special education is fully funded and accessible.

  • Relieve the pressure on communities by fully funding regional school transportation.

  • Enhance STEAM initiatives, civic education, and financial literacy for all students.

  • Increase access to higher education.

Protecting the health and safety of teachers, students, and families.

  • Provide state funding for school districts so they can purchase the equipment that they need to safely offer in-person learning.

  • Work with stakeholders to prepare for remote or socially distant learning at every grade level.

  • Ensure school districts are reimbursed for unexpected COVID-19 costs.
